Pizza Planet is a fictional, space-themed pizza arcade featured in the movie Toy Story. As a Bay Area kid, I still cling to the hope of finding a real-life local restaurant behind Pixar’s inspiration.

Recently, when a friend’s 4-year-old son started asking if he could go to Pizza Planet for dinner, I started imagining it all over again. This time, the curiosity became a writing warm-up. I scribbled out menu ideas and local ad headlines on my whiteboard and couldn’t stop. The warm-up became the project.

Still can’t remember what I was supposed to be working on.

Still can’t stop coming up with space-related pizza puns.
